Because of the Love

Today I’d like to read the beginning and the end of Psalm 133. “Behold how good, and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. For there the Lord commanded the blessing, life for evermore.

The Lord Jesus Christ is giving me a new love and appreciation for His church – His body. Instead of focusing on what could divide us, I now found in my heart a willingness to see the greater good. The blessing of life that is promised of God when we learn to walk hand in hand with others who promote the cause of Christ.

May almighty God give us maturity this coming year, to the point where the lost will see God because of the love that we have one for another. There are many good things that we could do for his name sake, but the greatest we could do is love each other.

It’s time to pray.

    Hi Pastor Carter,
I am struggling with the idea of seeing the greater good at the expense of truth. This comes from a place of being in an Anglican church in Australia whose ambition is basically social work. They do not openly ask the lost if they want to repent and receive Christ as their Saviour. They do not take all of the Bible as read. They promote the Roman Catholic Church. Many are for same-sex marriage and other socialist/Marxist ideologies, and many viciously and publicly oppose anyone conservative like your President Trump. Am I to overlook all of this for the sake of seeing the greater good? To me it seems like their idea of the greater good and mine are two different things. Jesus said the wheat and the tares would grow up together, and He constantly warned about false teachers. My concern is that while focussing only on promoting the cause of Christ and loving each other, we, the elect, can let our guard down and risk also being deceived.
