The book of second Thessalonians, chapter 2, verses 7 and 8 say these words: “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed.”
An Irish Statesman, Edmund Burke, made the well-known statement that “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Scripture tells us that when the one who restrains evil is removed, lawlessness beings to abound. We can also rightly say that when you and I cease to pray, evil around us is allowed to prosper.
Looking around us today, only one conclusion can be arrived at: My dear friend, it’s time to pray.
