The book of Esther, chapter 4 and verse 16: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan and fast for me. Neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so, I will go to the king, which is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
I am reminded today that the miraculous power of God is still ours, that is, if we choose to believe it. Facing death and the destruction of their society as they knew it, a young girl named Esther and a few friends turned to prayer. The rest is history. The law of death was turned to life, and strength returned to the people of God.
Now remember this one thing: that before Esther approached the king, she and her friends spent three days talking to God.
For you and I, it’s time to pray.
