The book of First Timothy, chapter 2, verses 1 to 4, Paul says, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
America has come through many battles in her historically short lifespan. From the Declaration of Independence to our own Civil War, we have survived battles from without and from within. But now we have taken on a fight we cannot win-we have spiritually declared war on God. Pray that God will give us leaders who understand this prayerless moment and have the courage to lead us, again, in humility.
It’s time to pray.
