John chapter 21, verses 5 and 6: “Then Jesus said to them, ‘Children, have you any food?’ They answered Him, ‘No.’ And He said to them, ‘Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.’ So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.”
You know, I love this story because it teaches a profoundly simple truth-maybe one you and I need to relearn today. The bottom line is the harvest-the truly plentiful lasting harvest-comes to those of us who honestly evaluate the fruitfulness of our lives and our own efforts and have the courage to listen again and obey the voice of God. Not only did the harvest come in, the Scriptures tell us it was kept by the net that God supplied. Oh, thanks be to God.
It’s time to pray.
